The water softener is in the garage next to the water heater. It has a water softener unit and a salt holding tank. The unit is programmed to run in the middle of the night. If power is out for a long period of time, the timer on the unit can be off.
Please check the salt holding tank occasionally to make sure that it has salt. Additional bags of salt can be purchased at Home Depot, Lowes, or Costco. Clearwater Systems also has a salt delivery service.
